Ruh-Roh

Daddy dropped his laptop down the stairs tonight, and it went SPLAT! (how exactly this happened, we're all still unsure, this is such a Mommy move)

Yes, SPLAT.

Right on the first step.

According to MH, who had to call Sweetheart and Poppy to share this insane news.

She was running up and down the stairs showing them exactly where the poor computer fell.

Then she told them it would be okay. But, SPLAT! Just like that! See it?!?

DH is in the middle of a freakout and I was laughing so hard at her reaction I made him get out the camcorder.

And he did.

Saintly, if you ask me. I would have smacked me.

Hear that DH? I just called you a saint. Own it right now, it's your moment in the sun!

Thank goodness for insurance - with a three year old in the house, it's a no-brainer.

Strangely, said laptop is functioning, but cracked all over.

And Compaq's servers are down indefinitely. As they told him after he held for an hour.

It'll all be ok - MH said so.

It's rather interesting - MH's Barbie dolls do amazing SPLATS too.

Need to say that when the MH called us, she was so animated and articulate that I could almost see her pointing to where it happened. I don't think I ever laughed so hard in my life at her description of events. As she said, it's OK, it's OK. Gotta love it!

Uh oh - that sounds like a pretty big splat. Ruh Roh always makes me think of Scooby Doo :-) I'm glad the insurance will take care of it!

Wow, it's like breaking laptop season right now it seems! First mine (grape soda), then I read someone else who had a liquid issue, and now this. Everyone hold onto those notebooks with dear life!

Yikes! I don't know what I would do without mine :) I spilled wine in my old one during law school but after it dried out, it was just fine.....

and here I thought the last sentence would be "then he dropped the camcorder SPLAT reprise..."

thank goodness for insurance. When my sweetie bought himself a fancy-schmancy camera the sales guy sold him a replacement insurance policy just by saying "not if but WHEN you drop the camera"

jinxed.
